Social scientists at the University of Exeter are working with researchers from other disciplines and universities across the UK to help guide industries, policymakers and communities towards a digitally enabled circular economy. The Digital Innovation and Circular Economy (DICE) Network+ brings together expertise from social sciences, engineering and materials science to explore technologies to enable and accelerate the adoption of the circular economy, as well how to embed sustainability within the development of digital and communication technologies.
The network aims to share understanding and engage with those in academia, industry and policy through events, knowledge exchange placements, thought leadership and insights into emerging research from across the community. For example, recent work by the DICE Network+ into how the UK can build a more circular and future‑ready data infrastructure contributed to the Data Centres All-Party Parliamentary Group Insights Paper.
