IMPACT (Improving Adult Care Together), led by Professor Jon Glasby FAcSS at the University of Birmingham, is the UK centre for implementing evidence in adult social care. Drawing together social scientists from universities across the four nations, as well as those working in policy and practice, IMPACT produces insights and evidence from research, lived experiences and practical knowledge which can be used to influence policy and inform practice.
Through a range of projects across four delivery models, work at IMPACT encompasses five themes including enhancing voice, choice and control; ensuring people stay healthy, connected and well at home; creating the care workforce we need – now and in the future; making integration between health and social care a reality; and building on the strengths of people and communities.
