The Academy’s Campaign for Social Science is always keen to engage across the Fellowship and that includes with brand new Fellows. On March 1 the Academy confirmed Chris Millward as a new Fellow and on the same day the Campaign published his comment piece on our Levelling Up hub. In his piece Chris explores the role of higher education in ‘levelling up’ and the policy around HE finance. It’s the first in what will be a series of new additions to the hub following the publication of the Levelling Up White Paper.
Chris Millward is Professor of Practice in Education Policy at the University of Birmingham and he was England’s Director for Fair Access and Participation from 2018-2021 and Director of Policy at the Higher Education Funding Council from 2014-2017.
Chris will be one of the speakers at the Campaign’s Strategic Leadership Forum (SLF) in March. The SLF provides an exclusive opportunity for senior leaders from institutions that are Gold or Silver level Campaign Supporters to network, exchange knowledge, and discuss policy and topical matters with high profile guest speakers. This includes key policymakers and leading experts in selected fields. If you’d like to participate in the Campaign’s SLF meetings, do encourage your institution, if it isn’t already, to become a Gold or Silver level Campaign Supporter.
