Code of Practice for Official Statistics – have your say…

January 22, 2016

Ed Humpherson, Director General for Regulation at the UK Statistics Authority has recently launched a stock take of the Code of Practice for Official Statistics. To begin this stock take, the Royal Statistical Society’s Statistics User Network (StatsUserNet) would like to gather a wide range of thoughts and opinions on the Code of Practice and explore how they can better align the Code with the development of the National Statistics ‘brand’ – to refer to statistics that meet the highest standards of trustworthiness, quality and value. They have set up a short questionnaire to give all users of official statistics the opportunity to share their views and help them understand the lived experience of the Code.

The deadline for completion is 5 February 2016.

The information gathered from the questionnaire will be used to identify common themes that they will explore in detail at future workshops. You can keep abreast of developments in this project either by submitting your email in the questionnaire, or by visiting the Code of Practice page on the Authority’s website (which will be regularly updated in the coming weeks).
